Sales of Galaxy S III Beat iPhone 4S


CALIFORNIA-Samsung Galaxy S III went on to become the best-selling smartphone in the world and beat the iPhone 4S. It is based on research firm Strategy Analytics report on the sale of the devices.

Quoted from PC Advisor, Saturday (10/11/2012), a report from Strategy Analytics reveal the Galaxy S III has sold 18 million units. While the iPhone 4S is only achieved sales of 16.2 million units.

Meanwhile, although the Galaxy S III managed to surpass the iPhone 4S in terms of sales, the iPhone 5 has been successfully achieved 6 million units sold since its launch in the first quarter.

In terms of market share, Galaxy S III dibesut Samsung grabbed 10.7 percent of global smartphone market share. The combination of the iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 has a total market share of 13.3 percent.

"Whatever be the position the Galaxy S III as the best-selling smartphone world are unlikely to be long-lived," said Executive Director at Strategy Analytics, Neil Mawston

"We predict that the new iPhone 5 will surpass Samsung Galaxy S III in the fourth quarter of 2012 and Apple will take over the title of the most popular smartphones," he added.
